چکیده
BackgroundIn October, 2012, Fiji introduced routine infant immunisation with a ten-valent pneumococcal conjugate vaccine (PCV10) using three primary doses and no booster dose (3 + 0 schedule). Data are scarce for the effect of PCV in Asia Pacific region. We aimed to evaluate PCV10 on pneumonia hospital admissions children younger than 5 years adults aged 55 older Fiji, after introduction.MethodsWe did time-series analysis assessing changes at public tertiary hospitals Fiji. Four outcomes were evaluated: all-cause pneumonia, severe or very hypoxic radiological pneumonia. متن کاملDecline in pneumonia admissions after routine childhood immunisation with pneumococcal conjugate vaccine in the USA: a time-series analysis.
BACKGROUND Routine infant immunisation with seven-valent pneumococcal conjugate vaccine (PCV7) began in the USA in 2000. Although invasive pneumococcal disease has declined substantially, the programme's effect on hospital admissions for pneumonia is unknown. We therefore assessed the effect of the programme on rates of all-cause and pneumococcal pneumonia admissions. METHODS Data from the Na...

Background Ten-valent pneumococcal conjugate vaccine (PCV10) was introduced in the National Immunization Program of Brazil in March/2010. Although there are recent reports of PCV10 impact on pneumonia hospitalizations, there is still uncertainty regarding the indirect impact in individuals non-targeted by vaccination. We assessed both direct and indirect effect of PCV10 on pneumonia hospitaliza...
